For any of you that know me personally, you know I love movies, especially going to the movies ... and luckily, my significant other does too. And one of the things I have always loved about the summer is all the "blockbuster" movies that are released at that time of year. Nothing better to get in out of the heat (or in the case of Rochester, the humidity) and see the latest Hollywood offering on the big screen. But I am starting to wonder, now that the summer is over, was it really worth it? With the cost of movies skyrocketing (at one movie recently it cost us $13.75 *each* just for the ticket), is it really worth going to see the latest "blockbuster" in the theater? For the two of us, it is usually a $30-$35 activity ... compared to either $1 for a Redbox movie or $2 for one at Blockbuster, plus some great $1 candy options from Wegmans which is well under $10 even if we shop hungry for the candy.
